WORK Inc.’s Autism Services aim to actively support and increase individuals’ independence within their home and their community by equipping them with the life skills, resources and supports they need to successfully gain empowerment over their lives and reach their full potential. Individuals will be provided with a suite of services and supports that are customized to help each person overcome the specific barriers they face in gaining independence. We believe this is best accomplished through a combination of stable and appropriate housing, productive employment, and the emotional and practical supports to engage successfully with the world. Our staff works collaboratively with the individual, family members, or other caregivers to develop and implement programs and interventions to promote growth and independence in all areas of an individual’s life.

Assessment & Referral -  Our team meets together with individuals to conduct assessments of their independent living skills and discuss their personal goals related to school, work, and/or community engagement. Assessments and goal-setting are person-centered and help guide the team in making a highly individualized plan for referrals to other WORK Inc. programs providing training and support on employment, life skills, community engagement, and family support services.

Pre-Engagement Services - Pre-Engagement is intended for individuals with ASD who may be experiencing severe social isolation due to a mental health disorder, which is ultimately impacting their ability to engage in their community and with other services.  Staff is equipped with the training, skills, interventions, and tools necessary to build meaningful trust and understanding with individuals to help them.

Life & Wellness Coaching - Our Life and Wellness Coaches provide highly individualized coaching within the home and community. Through one-on-one support sessions, coaches will help individuals learn, improve, and perform executive functioning (organizational/planning) tasks, access social opportunities, acquire skills necessary for employment, and more. Coaching and skill development are all based on each individual’s stated goals and what they would like to achieve.

College Navigation - WORK Inc. college navigators help individuals identify supports or skills needed for them to be successful in post-secondary college programs. Our staff also have their own personal familiarity with the college experience, both socially and academically.

Employment Services - A state-of-the-art employment services approach for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder to obtain competitive integrated employment aligned with their skills, education, interests, and strengths. Services focus on an integrated approach through the provision of psycho-education and a full range of job development activities facilitated by a licensed clinician and a Career Navigator (CN) in the areas of anxiety management, behavioral interviewing, and social skills training in small groups and then 1:1 job development services.
