Residential Services

At WORK, Inc. we are very proud of the opportunities that have been created for individuals with disabilities to live as independently as possible in the community. Our agency provides high quality residential support services in 24 hour residential group homes and single and shared apartments throughout the Greater Boston area. Over 175 individuals are successfully supported in community-based housing.

Each community residential home provides services to five (5) individuals and each are staffed by dedicated and competent people 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Currently located in Quincy, Stoughton, Brockton, Boston and Winthrop as well as in Andover and Methuen on the North Shore, programs are located in attractive and comfortable houses, condominium complexes or market apartments. Our residences function on a community-based rehabilitation model supporting people to achieve their personal goals and live as independently as possible.

Each person is assisted to create an Individual Life Plan to help them identify their goals and dreams for the future. Plans may include acquisition of daily living skills, social inclusion, personal safety, economic security, self sufficiency, life satisfaction, intimate relationships, maintaining optimum health, as well as upholding dignity and respect. Additionally, depending on the unique needs of the individual, residents are strongly encouraged to become involved in activities during the day including any combination of work, day habilitation, and recreation.

Referrals for residential services primarily come from the Department of Developmental Services the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission and the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind. However, referrals are also accepted from individuals who are seeking an opportunity to live more independently and are able to pay privately.
